Through popular demand, the Clipper kits will now contain BNC adapters for direct connection to Scope Probes. The complete Kit contents is shown below. The Operating Instructions (V1.4) have been updated to include this change, and apply to all kits delivered from Jan 1st 2015.
Springburo has completed development of the battery driven High Voltage Pulse Generator (HVPG). Initially it was designed to demonstrate the Clipper function, but it can be used for other purposes as well, including the testing and characterization of components. Any suggestions or feedback would be useful. The unit includes a SiC 1700V switching MOSFET with an inductive load. Four sequential 1000V pulses are applied, with load current increasing from 0.5A, 1.5A, 3A and 5.2A. The 2 outputs are identical, but the aim is to connect a 1000V Oscilloscope Probe CH1 to Output 1, The Clipper and Oscilloscope CH2 to Output 2, and the Oscilloscope CH3 directly to the current sense output. The RdsON of the MOSFET can clearly be viewed with high resolution using the Clipper (CH2), and with great difficulty without (CH1). The Operating Instructions are on our Download page or click here
